I love to find gifts to suggest that allow you to give something special to someone and help others at the same time. I've written about Tom's Shoes before (they give away a pair of shoes for every pair they sell) and I just read about Figs in Santa Monica that sells a variety of styles of cool ties (not just bow ties) and for each tie sold that make sure a child in Africa has a proper school uniform (in many places there you can't attend without one). A Gift That Gives Back
It's a great idea to give to a charity in lieu of a gift sometimes, but there are moments when you want someone to have a tangible item. One way to do both is to give someone a pair of Tom's Shoes or a gift card to get a pair. For every pair you buy, Tom's Shoes gives a pair to a child in need. The shoes are comfortable and chic, so it's not had to want to do. If you want to know a bit more about Tom's Shoes and the man who founded the company (Blake Mycoskie), watch this video.

Great Gift Idea For the Charitable Foodie In Your Life
I just read about School House Kitchen this morning and I think their products sound great, but since I haven't tasted them here's a link to some reviews. The products are reasonably priced and sound pretty tasty, but another upside is that a part of the profits goes to supporting educational causes and I really love that. This would be a great gift for the charitable foodie in your life, but you could also give this to a teacher for a year end gift.
