Good Fortunes sells a cute gift item, cookies and an edible pen to decorate/write on them with. This would make a cute gift for a kid or even an adult with an artsy or fun spirit.

An Oldie But A Cookie
I have been sending people Snookies Cookies for years. The cookies taste amazing and they will delivery all over LA. One great option they offer is to have milk come with the cookies and people get a big kick out of that because it reminds them of childhood. The price point is really reasonable, so the next time you want to send a sweet treat for you or your boss, give Snookies a shot.

Texas Treats

I have no time today, so I'm just going to do a quick post. I know it seems like I'm fixated on doing food related gifts lately and truly, I'm not, but today I decided to send cookies to a friend in Austin for his birthday at the last minute and I found a great place to use. It's called Tiff's Treats. The deliver cookies in Austin and Dallas and their website was fast and easy to use. I logged on a few hours ago placed an order and he already got it by this afternoon. If you need to do a cookie gift in those areas, give it a shot.

Nice To Meet You. Do You Want A Bite Of My Business Card?
So tomorrow is the first day of the new gig. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'm never happy the first few weeks of a job. I know it's impossible to know everything in the beginning, but if I could I would. The awkward period when I don't feel like I know it all - KILLS me. Anyway, I'm doing a post or two now because I know this will be a rough week to be posting.
I'm always talking about being yourself and capitalizing on what you bring to the table. It's also key to be memorable no matter what creative field you are in. I saw these edible cookie business cards over the weekend and thought they were adorable. The upside is, if you give one of those cards to someone they would never forget you. The downside is that they might eat your info and then not be able to get in touch with you. I guess that means give out two to each person. I for sure like the cookie business cards more than the beef jerkyish meatcards that went around the web in recent months. I have to admit as gross as those seem, people probably wouldn't forget you if you handed those out as well.

Just One Bite Will Get You
One great way to say thanks to a friend who helped you or a client is with cookies. With an item like cookies you have a million choices and it's hard to know who to pick. Here's a few of my favorites :
1) Snookies Cookies - I have used this place for quite a few years. They aren't crazy expensive, the cookies are yummy and the best thing is that you can get the cookies delivered with milk on ice. I love that extra little touch that makes them a bit more fun.
2) Isabella's Cookies - I only discovered this place in the last year. I love that they have so many fun and original flavors. A friend recently got these from someone and was raving to me about them.
3) Deluscious Cookies - These are really good and some of the unusual flavors they do at certain times of the year make them an interesting choice to send. You can also get them to deliver with milk that comes in glass bottles (makes for a nice retro, but elegant feel). The only thing that I would say about these is that they are a bit more expensive.
4) Levain Bakery - All three of the above are local (they all do ship to other places if you aren't in a hurry), but this place I heard of years ago from my friend Debbie and the cookies are amazing. They were actually featured on the Oprah show the other day in a piece about Cinnamon Rolls.

More Rare Short Postings :)
Okay, so as I said no long rambling postings today. I know all (10 of you?) who read the blog love the long ones, but you'll survive. I've gone on at length about the key thing for me with gifts is something fun, unexpected and unique. One place I like to order from that people really seem to like is Elenis. They are in NYC and deliver locally there, but ship anywhere. They can do custom cookies, but they do a bunch of different types of already cleverly designed cookies in a variety of themes. I blogged regarding the golf cookies here before, but I also love this cookie set to give to someone who is in NYC or going to visit. If someone isn't feeling well, you can send these. I do also like this other company that does custom designed cookies of all sorts.
